Dr. Michael Sullivan is an internationally renowned Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and teacher. He is frequently asked to speak on Facial Plastic topics to medical groups around the country. Dr. Sullivan has also spoken and performed surgery in Russia, Finland and Croatia. In 1996 he co-founded The Sullivan Centre with his wife, Dr. Christine Sullivan. The Sullivan Centre is the only free-standing ambulatory surgery center dedicated to cosmetic surgery in central Ohio. He directed the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Ohio State University from 1991-2002. Dr. Sullivan is currently a clinical Associate Professor in the department and regularly instructs resident doctors in training.
Dr. Michael Sullivan was certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1988 and by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in 1986. His dual certification and over 23 years of experience give Dr. Sullivan a unique understanding of the complexities of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head and neck. Dr. Sullivan has been a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery since 1988. He was awarded the academy's William K. Wright award in 2000 and F. Mark Rafaty Memorial Award in 2008 for his service and dedication to education. He has served on many of this prestigious academy's committees. Most notably, Dr. Sullivan presided as chairman of the continuing Medical Education Committee from 1992-2005. This committee is in charge of all educational programming for the Facial Plastic Surgery Academy and its 2500 members. He has served as Program chairman for numerous courses including The 8thInternational Symposium on Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in New York City May 2002. Dr. Sullivan is an editorial reviewer for the Archives of Facial Plastic published by the American Medical Association.

Dr. Michael Sullivan is a native of Marion, Ohio. He received a Bachelor's of Science Degree from The University of Toledo where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Ohio State University in 1980. He completed a 2-year surgical internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio from 1980-1982. Dr. Sullivan completed a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at The University of Michigan in 1986 and remained on the faculty of the University of Michigan as an Assistant Professor from 1986-1991.
Dr. Michael Sullivan authored a classic head and neck reconstruction textbook and has an extensive bibliography of published textbook chapters and scientific articles relating to Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Sullivan is often quoted in the Columbus Dispatch about cosmetic procedures and facial plastic surgery.
